OUR STAFF AT WORK

The Many Monkey Theorem states that "If you get an infinite number of monkeys and sit each of them in front of a typewriter, then one of them will produce the complete works of Shakespeare".

Of course one can also say that if you had one monkey and an infinite amount of time then it will eventually reproduce the whole works of Shakespeare.

There is also a third way which involves taking a finite number of monkeys and a finite amount of time.  This is the approach we take at Sick Little Monkeys.  Our daily jokes are the result of one monkey typing for one day.  You can see the "real-time" results of our staff member's work below.

You can either stay here and watch for the joke to appear or you can follow the Jokes link to see the result. If you decide to wait for the results to appear above, just be aware that you will probably need to spend the entire 24 hours watching very carefully. Do not even blink (we believe that our subscribers who have not seen a joke appear after watching for 24 hours missed it when they blinked).

Note:  We have attempted to comply with RFC2795, The Infinite Monkey Protocol Suite (IMPS)

We have collected some of the most popular references to the Many Monkey Theorem for your enlightenment.  See References to the Many Monkey Theorem

"We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the Complete Works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true".
-- Robert Wilensky, University of California

"Of course, we still haven't proved that the average internet user has anywhere close to the intellect of a monkey...".
-- Karl Larson, WebTV.
